FIFA World Cup Fever: The Countdown

The European football season has finished and that means only one thing for this summer, the FIFA World Cup in Russia. In what promises to be the most open tournament in history we look forward to watching the best players in the world face off with each other. Whilst we know who the favourites are for the tournament, Argentina, Brazil, Germany and France here are some of the outsiders that we also think have a chance of going all the way:

Croatia

A team that will be missed by all pundits will be Croatia, however we have been following their progress and think they could potentially reach the latter stages.

Colombia

The Colombian team went as far as the semi-finals 4 years ago and will be hoping to go one step further. The team is full of solid players that can beat any team on their day. The team of Portugal have not performed in recent tournaments but this year the feeling is different. Any team with Cristiano Ronaldo has a chance of winning any game. Other key players for the Portuguese are Gelson Martins, Goncalo Guedes, Bernardo Silva, Andre Silva, Ricardo Quaresma.
